Independence

We will promote and wherever possible increase your independence, with support intended to maximise your capacity for self-care, greater autonomy and improved mobility.

Choice

Your choices will be actively promoted and respected wherever possible. We aim to provide a flexible service, promoting ‘ordinary’ lifestyles, in accordance with your wishes. You will be supported to make your own choices, at your own pace, focusing upon your personal priorities.

Dignity

Both you and your families will be treated with dignity and respect. In return, it is our expectation that our staff be treated likewise.

Confidentiality

We recognise that by virtue of our involvement in your daily lives, we will be privy to a wealth of intimate, personal information which may not ordinarily be in the public domain. We will treat all such information in the strictest confidence, except where it is absolutely necessary to share such information with external parties, for example, in the event of safeguarding concerns or criminal proceedings. In such instances, we will inform you of the information to be shared.

Fulfilment

Everyone has the potential to develop and the right to have personal aspirations, which they should be supported to achieve, given due regard to safety and any other relevant considerations.

Communication

You always have the right to express your views and wishes in respect of your support provision, and for those to be taken in to account; you should be kept informed about all aspects of your care. We will utilise appropriate means of communication to facilitate this, deploying aids where necessary, in accordance with individual needs.

Risk-taking

You are always entitled to make decisions about your daily lives, even where others may consider these decisions unwise. We will employ a positive, person-centred approach, in order to increase independence and enable progression through reasonable risk-taking.
